Our Story
Bam and Bloom was created out of a shared desire to design and produce homeware that is functional, fresh, beautiful and kind to the environment.
Tired of the generic, mass-produced pieces on offer, we set about to design bold, quality pieces with an adherence to exquisite design.
The products we create are important to us and before we set out designing our pieces, we spent many weeks carefully selecting our main materials. This was a two-fold process; we wanted materials that were intrinsically sustainable but also that were grown and harvested in ethical, green ways. We finally arrived at rattan, bamboo and water hyacinth: materials chosen for their renewability, durability and natural beauty.
We are particularly excited about working with water hyacinth. Often regarded as an invasive aquatic plant, it has been thoughtfully re-imagined in our Hyacinth light. Soft yet strong, its natural shades of warm brown make it equally suited to delicate and more robust designs. Harvesting water hyacinth also helps to actively manage an invasive species in local waterways.
For our rattan and bamboo supply, we work in partnership with local growers in Chuong My in the Red River Delta outside Hanoi. We source directly from these growers and collaborate with skilled local artisans who bring our designs to life by hand.
All of our materials are hand-harvested and sun-dried, using traditional methods that minimise processing and respect the natural qualities of the fibres.
We have carefully designed and curated a diverse range. A unique family of products that are at once funky, chunky and bold, as well as elegant, sophisticated, quirky and bohemian.
Together, they reflect the many sides of us as humans and bring a sense of quiet energy into your home.
